Sims 3 World Adventures and Generations tip: sleeping in tombs

Here’s something that will help the adventurous sims in your families.  If you’ve got both World Adventures and Generations installed, buy a sleeping bag for each of your adventuring sims and then put the sleeping bags in your sims’ inventories before you send them off to any of the adventure worlds.

If your sim is new to adventuring, you will have to do this before he leaves for his vacations because you cannot enter buy mode on the community base camp lots.  You won’t be able to buy a lot in any adventure world until you reach visa level 3, and by that time you will have gone through most of the tombs already.

When your sims have a sleeping bag on their adventures, they can find a place to sleep in almost any tomb because the sleeping bag takes up only a couple squares of space whereas the small tent needs much more space (and the luxury tent that the special merchant sells requires an extra-high roof above it to accommodate the spire at the top of the tent).

Just be sure to have your sim put his sleeping bag back into his inventory before leaving the lot.

Diverse divers

Yesterday I installed Island Paradise and started playing with the pack.  Naturally, my first sim was created to be a diver so she could explore the new sim areas.  It only took two dives before she found some strange divers in the dive lot with her.

So there’s my sim, Delia Dietrich (nicknamed DD), in the middle of her second dive.  She just won her second battle with a shark, which seems to have magically disappeared, and now she gets to meet both a mermaid and a ghost.

New blog, new expansion pack

So now that I've got this blog at least started, it's time for me to add some content.  My first real update is a result of today's mail delivery.  My copy of The Sims 3 Island Paradise arrived in the mail today.  I had waited a little while to order it because my funds are fairly limited right now, but with the sale during GamesCom last week, I was able to get the expansion for $20 instead of the full $40.

I just finished installing the pack, now I'm off to play it for a while...  Sim at you soon!

Sul sul!

Okay, I know we don't really need yet another blog about The Sims, but this is another project in the long list of things that I want to do.

So who am I and why should you care?  I'm a simmer, and you don't need to care.  Frankly, it doesn't matter to me if you care or not.  I'm going to be posting to this blog because I play The Sims and I want to share a little bit more about what I'm doing in the game rather than bombard my non-sim family with stories of my many sim families.  I've want to share some tips in playing The Sims that I haven't seen mentioned on other sites yet.

With that, I invite you to sit back, read and enjoy what I have to share.

Oh, and please feel free to send me a Sim friend request.  My login on TheSims3.com is Slambo.
